The Department of Computer Science and Telecommunication Engineering was established on the beginning of the University on the 22nd June,2006. The department was initially organized under the supervision of two teachers Md. Javed Hossain & Md. Humayun Kabir with a mission to produce highly qualified graduates in the field of computer technology. The department has now handful of young teachers and about 135 students. 

The Department offers four year undergraduate courses in computer science and   telecommunication engineering and has plans to start graduate courses in the near future. The courses cover subjects like computer programming, data structure, algorithms, compiler construction, computer network and architecture telecommunication engineering, analog and digital electronics, image processing and multimedia etc. The courses have been designed so that students graduating from this department have a balance of theory and practical skills to prepare them for the highly competitive workplace. In spite of resource constraints, care is taken so that high teaching quality is maintained at each stage of education.     

Besides teaching, the department has also the vision in research in areas like computer networking, fiber optics, parallel and distributed processing, speech processing and pattern recognition.   

The department has three laboratories itself. Two computer lab one of which is converted from windows xp operating system to Ubuntu for better networking and an electronics lab.LAN connection is available in computer lab. The department has also got a seminer library.
