Preparation of manuscripts

The following guide lines should be followed strictly in submitting the manuscript of the paper.    

All manuscripts must be written in English and typed on a good quality (A4) paper with double space and sufficient margins (Left and top one inch, right and bottom also one inch). Articles should be submitted (one printed and a soft copy) to the Editor at the University address stated below and through email as MS word format suggesting at least two potential reviewers’ name. The Editorial Board will arrange review of the article. The decision of the Editorial board on any article is final. After acceptance galley proof will be sent to author(s) within five days as notice.

The paper should not normally exceed ten types’ written pages (including tables, figures, graphs and list of references).

The manuscript should contain the following subtitles in sequence: Title, Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results and Discussion, Acknowledgements (if any) and References. These sub-titles, however, will not be present in case of short communication.

  1.  Title:

The title of the paper must be brief and specific (not exceeding 50 letters).

3.1 The name(s) of the author with address and corresponding author’s email address should be specified under the title.

  1. Abstract:

The abstract must be completely self-explanatory and intelligible. It must include the reason for conducting the study, objectives, materials and method(s), results and discussion, and a conclusion. An abstract should not exceed 250 words for a regular paper.

  1. Key words:

3-5 key words (in small letters) must be provided. Key words should be separated by semicolon. This will be printed just after abstract.

  1. Text:
  1. The text of the paper should be clear, brief and comprehensive.
  2. The word limit of the article will be up to 5000
  3. The word limit of the short communication article will be up to 2000
  4. Font name and size: Times New Roman with 12 size
  5. The paper should be typewritten double spaced in between the lines.
  6. The pages should be numbered sequentially in the lower middle place on A4 paper
  7. Margin (Left and top one inch, right and bottom also one inch) on good quality paper of A4 size.

Introduction and objectives: It should be concise, include relevant literature and clear objective(s) of the study.

 Materials and Methods: It should include a clear and concise description of the experimental procedure including applicable statistical evaluation.

 Results and Discussion:  This section should include precise statement of results obtained, figures, tables and discussion.

  1.  Tables, Graphs and Figures:
  1. Number of Tables, Graphs and Figures should be minimum.
  2. Numerical data must not be presented in two forms (e.g. in both table and graph). Table should be typed on a separate sheet and indicate on a typescript its preferred position in the text.
  3. Table title should be on the top of the table and be written as Table 1.
  4. Caption for the figures and graphs should be on the bottom of the figure-graphs and be written as Fig 1.

e. Illustrations, pictures and graphs, should be supplied with the highest quality and in an electronic format that helps us to publish your article in the best way possible. Please follow the guidelines below to enable us to prepare your artwork for the printed issue:

Format, resolution and colour of the image: TIFF, JPEG: Common format for pictures (containing no text or graphs). Resolution: Rasterized based files (i.e. with .tiff or .jpeg extension) require a resolution of at least 300 dpi (dots per inch). Line art should be supplied with a minimum resolution of 800 dpi. Colour: The colour should be black and white (unless otherwise arranged). Therefore, it is important that you supply images that are comprehensible in black and white as well (i.e. by using colour with a distinctive pattern or dotted lines).

  1. Acknowledgements (if any)

Acknowledgements should appear on before the section on References.

E.g., this volume is published with the financial assistance of UGC, Dhaka, Bangladesh.

  1. References:

In the text the references should be given within brackets with a comma between the name of the author and year. Citation style, the results are partially agree well with the findings of (Mohsin, 2015), (Mohsin and Belal, 2016).  The reference at the end of the text must be alphabetical by senior author. Journal references should include names of all authors, year, complete title, publication volume, number and inclusive pages. For books, give the name of all authors, the editor if any, year, complete title, publisher and place of publication.

While submitting a paper the authors are to sign a declaration to the effect that i. the work reported has been carried out by them and they jointly prepare the manuscript; ii. They take public responsibility for the contents of the paper; iii. The paper has not been published before in any referred scientific journal or has not been submitted to such journal for publication; and iv. They accord consent to the Journal of Noakhali Science and Technology University (JNSTU) to publish the paper.
