Dr. Nusrat Jahan Methela

Dr. Nusrat Jahan Methela is an Associate Professor in the Department of Agriculture at Noakhali Science and Technology University (NSTU), Bangladesh. She holds a Ph.D. in Plant Immunity and Functional Genomics from Kyungpook National University, South Korea. Her research interests include plant stress biology, nitric oxide signaling, plant immunity, functional genomics, and molecular mechanisms of stress adaptation. She has experience in Gateway cloning and molecular approaches for functional studies in plants, particularly Arabidopsis.

Biography

Dr. Nusrat Jahan Methela is an Associate Professor in the Department of Agriculture at Noakhali Science and Technology University (NSTU), Bangladesh. She earned her Ph.D. from the Laboratory of Plant Immunity and Functional Genomics, Kyungpook National University, South Korea. Her research focuses on plant stress biology, nitric oxide signaling, plant immunity, and functional genomics, with particular interest in understanding the molecular and physiological mechanisms underlying plant responses to environmental stresses. Her research expertise includes molecular biology, gene expression analysis, Gateway cloning, and gene construct development for functional studies in Arabidopsis. She is particularly interested in exploring the roles of nitric oxide and redox signaling in plant stress adaptation and developing approaches to improve crop resilience under changing environmental conditions. Her broader research interests include climate-resilient agriculture and the application of emerging computational approaches in plant science.
