Dr. Saif Hannan

About Dr. Saif Hannan

Dr. Saif Hannan achieved his Ph.D. in Electrical, Electronic and Systems Engineering from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) in 2022. Earlier, he completed his M.S. and B.Sc. in Physics from Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST), Bangladesh. Currently, he is serving as an Associate Professor in the Department of Physics at Noakhali Science and Technology University (NSTU), Bangladesh.

Dr. Hannan's research primarily focuses on microwave technology and material science. His core areas of expertise include metamaterial absorbers, antenna design, sensors and VLSI, and smart systems. He works on designing perfect absorbers for microwave, millimeter-wave, and 5G applications, improving antenna performance, developing sensor technologies, and building IoT-based smart systems such as energy-efficient street lighting and automated greenhouse monitoring.

He has published extensively in high-impact journals such as Journal of Materials Research and Technology, Journal of Science: Advanced Materials and Devices, Alexandria Engineering Journal, Engineering Science and Technology (JESTECH), Scientific Reports, and IEEE Access. His Google Scholar h-index is 16 with more than 750 citations.

Dr. Hannan has also served as a reviewer for reputed journals including AIP Advances, IEEE Internet of Things Journal, Optics and Laser Technology, Silicon, Scientific Reports, and IEEE Access. He has published 20 journal articles, 29 conference papers, and 4 book chapters.

Dr. Hannan received excellent thesis and graduate-on-time awards during his Ph.D., along with the Jamalah Scholarship from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. He also received merit stipends during his undergraduate studies.

He has over 15 years of teaching experience in physics and electromagnetic fields at International Islamic University Chittagong (IIUC) and Noakhali Science and Technology University (NSTU). He also serves as a student advisor in the Physics department at NSTU.
