About Nusrat Jahan

Nusrat Jahan is currently working as a faculty member at the Department of English at Noakhali Science and Technology University.

She studied English (BA and MA) at Noakhali Science and Technology University. Her areas of research include, but are not restricted to, Postcolonialism, Metamodernism and Postmodernism in literature, linking the eastern and western theories to the Bengali literary works and others. Some of her recent research articles, conference papers and seminar lectures concentrate on Postcolonial ecofeminism, Green romanticism, Decolonial AestheSis, Design poems, Forceful submission fetish in item song, fragmentation, Transcendental homelessness, Belongingness and others. She has also presented her research papers at many national and international conferences. Apart from her research career, Nusrat has been actively engaged with different leadership, volunteerism and cultural activities and organizations since her student life. She has attended the National Television debate and won numerous prizes for story writing and essay competitions and has been also closely associated with short-film making and photography direction. Nusrat believes that her extreme passion for literature has brought her into this profession and she desires ardently to be with literature for eternity.

1. Participated as Presenter on "Collective Consciousness to Pursue Gender Equality in The Ministry of Utmost Happiness" at International Conference on Humanities (ICH2019), held on October 30- 31, 2019 at the School of Humanities, Universiti Sains Malaysia, Penang, Malaysia. 

2. Participated as Presenter on "Uprooting the Roots against the Exploitation of Women and Nature: The Sense of Postcolonial Ecofeminism in the Tree Without Roots" at Entangled Englishes in Translocal Spaces: International Conference, held on September 2- 4, 2021 by the Center for Language Studies (CLS) and the Department of English and Humanities, ULAB, Dhaka.

3. Participated as Presenter on​ "Bandook Dikha Dikha Ke Kya Pyaar Karegi”: Should We Celebrate the Problematic “Forceful Submission Fetish” in the Song “Afghan Jalebi”?", at " From 'Kabuliwala' to the Fall of Kabul: Afghanistan in Popular Imagination", held on October 30- 31,  2021 by the Department of English and Humanities, ULAB, Dhaka.
