About Prof. Dr. Dibyadyuti Sarkar (ড. দিব্যদ্যুতি সরকার)
Professor Dr. Dibyadyuti Sarkar is the Chairman of the Department of Political Science at Noakhali University of Science and Technology and a recognized researcher, teacher and academic leader in the fields of Bangladesh's Liberation War, genocide, crimes against humanity, refugee studies, geopolitics and minority rights. In addition to earning his bachelor's, master's, M.Phil. and PhD degrees from Rajshahi University, he has also completed post-doctoral research at the University Grants Commission (UGC). He started his career by securing first place in his subject in the Bangladesh Civil Service (Education) cadre in 2003.
He has published seven books so far, which have made important contributions to research on the Liberation War, history, state, society and contemporary political issues. As an extraordinary speaker, he is well-known in national and international seminars, conferences and intellectual circles. At Noakhali University, he has skillfully performed various important academic and administrative responsibilities, including the Dean, Departmental Chairman and the Provost of the Residential Hall.
As a dedicated mentor, he inspires students to develop intellectual growth, research excellence, and leadership qualities. He is committed to developing a new generation of responsible citizens and thoughtful leaders through a combination of knowledge, human values, and academic excellence.

Dr. Dibyadyuti Sarkar is the first full-fledged chairman of the department of Bangladesh and Liberation War Studies (BLWS). He is the first Provost of Bir Muktijoddha Abdul Malek Ukil Hall, the third residential hall of this University. He also served as an Assistant Director of the Research Cell of NSTU and a member of the editorial board of the first research journal of NSTU. Dr. Sarkar has good command on Oral History, Research Methodology, ICT in Education & Research, Content Development, Training, and Public Speaking. He participated in many pieces of training and workshops. Among them, few selected are stated below:
Earlier, Dr. Sarkar was a member of the Education Cadre of Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) since 2003. He ranked first in BCS (Gen. Edu., history discipline) across the country in 22nd BCS. |
